The expedition

Tbilisi • Samegrelo • Egrisi Mountains • Tobavarchkhili • Batumi

Extreme Georgia is a 12-day adventure expedition combining remote wilderness, multi-day trekking and mountain camping. The journey leads deep into the Egrisi Mountains, crossing high passes and alpine valleys to reach the spectacular Tobavarchkhili (Silver Lakes). With five nights of mountain camping, rugged trails and isolated landscapes, this trip is designed for experienced and physically fit travelers seeking a true adventure. After the expedition, the journey continues through Samegrelo and Martvili to Batumi and the Black Sea coast. Remote. Challenging. Wild. This is Georgia beyond the tourist trail. MANDATORY EQUIPMENT CHECK All expedition equipment will be checked before the group enters the Egrisi Mountains. The check is mandatory and is intended to ensure that every participant has the essential equipment needed for remote mountain camping. The expedition team may review tents, sleeping bags and mats, footwear, waterproof and warm clothing, backpacks, food supplies, water capacity, lighting, personal safety essentials and other required equipment. IMPORTANT: Participants who arrive without essential equipment, insufficient food, inappropriate footwear/clothing, or equipment considered inadequate for the expected conditions may not be permitted to begin the mountain expedition. FITNESS & EXPEDITION CONDITIONS • Good physical fitness is required. • Participants must be prepared for consecutive full trekking days. • Participants must be capable of carrying their own loaded backpack and personal camping equipment. • Expect significant ascents and descents over mountain terrain. • Trails may be rough, steep, wet or muddy. • Stream and river crossings may be encountered depending on route and conditions. • Weather in the Egrisi Mountains can change rapidly. • Participants must be comfortable camping for five consecutive nights. • Access to showers, electricity, shops and normal hotel facilities will not be available during the wilderness section. • The itinerary and campsites may be changed by the expedition team for safety, weather, trail or operational reasons. IMPORTANT SAFETY & ROUTE NOTE The Egrisi Mountains are remote and weather-dependent. The published itinerary represents the intended expedition structure, but exact trekking stages, campsites, entry/exit points and daily distances may need to change according to weather, trail conditions, water levels, group condition and safety considerations. Participants must follow the instructions of the expedition team during the wilderness section. The safety of the group takes priority over reaching a specific lake, pass, campsite or timetable.
